UPTECH
Project description

UPTECH proposes a robust strategy to strengthen innovation in the field of deep-tech, specifically addressing AI/Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Big Data, and Internet of Things (IoT) topics. The consortium is a perfect example of triple helix cooperation that connects 4 HEIs of the Southern European axis (Malaga, Santarem, IUAV and Zadar), 2 Foundations specialized in sustainability innovation issues (Fenice and CEF), 2 research HUBs (Malaga TechPark and HIG) and a spinoff (PRIVACT). This aligns directly with the EIT HEI Initiative, focusing on enhancing HEIs’ capacity in deep-tech talent development and advancing regional innovation ecosystems.

In alignment with the EIT Strategic Innovation Agenda (SIA) 2021–2027, UPTECH supports the following goals:
01.

Strengthening Sustainable Innovation Ecosystems Across Europe UPTECH connects HEIs and centres of excellence to foster the Knowledge Triangle Integration through education, research and business activities.

02.

Promoting Innovative Skills Through Lifelong Learning UPTECH enhances HEIs’ capacity to train deep-tech talent experts in AI, Big Data, Cybersecurity, and IoT with the innovation skills to bring Innovation to the market.

03.

Strengthening Innovative Capacity of Higher Education in Europe UPTECH enhances the innovative capacity of HEIs in Southern Europe by integrating them into innovation ecosystems, while offering innovative training/mentoring methods to align deep-tech topics with innovation skills.

All project activities will be carried out and implemented through a structured three-phase approach to achieve these objectives:

Institutional and Regional Capacity Building

Deep-Tech Talents Development and Startups Creation

Enhance Collaboration Across Sectors

Inclusive and Ethical Innovation for Community Fostering

Sustainability and Market Integration
